Advocate

As a community advocate, I serve as a staff member with The Chicago Inclusion Project where I co-created the IDEA  training and consultation series, Active Anti-Racism, for mid to small-size theatre and arts education organizations.

I am an instructor at Black Box Acting and an adjunct professor at The Theatre School at Depaul University, where I work to encourage young artists to bring their unique voices to the work and hope to inspire a pedagogy shift from the role of actor as “vessel” to “collaborator”.

I've produced events, taught workshops, and served on the board of the Chicago Chapter of  The Muslim Writers Collective, a national grassroots arts organization aimed at reclaiming the Muslim American narrative.

I have been a certified group fitness instructor for 6 years committed to fighting diet culture and making movement joyful, accessible, and fun. I currently teach over 10 formats in 4 different studios at Midtown Athletic Club.
